The 25th World Scout Jamboree beganAugust 2, 2023
Today the 25th World Scout Jamboree has started in Saemangeum, South Korea. Nearly 50,000 young people and adults from 156 countries participate, with the motto “Draw your dreams”.
The place adapted to be the camp, is a rice paddy therefore quite humid and easily flooded. The surface is 8.8 square kilometers with the necessary facilities to provide health care, food, allow the various activities of the jamboree, which makes young people and adults exchange experiences, learn about different cultures and languages and many memories for their collections.
Until now, the heat, the high humidity and some torrential rains have marked the scouting spirit with the “presence of BP”, which is what the participants point out as a difficulty.
The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Korea, with his wife, in perfect scout uniform; K-pop groups, choral groups like “Forstella”, and air effects with drones.
